There are times I wonder if I’m neglecting this site. I will freely admit to a slight pattern of dilly-dally… really with all things on earth, if I’m being honest. However, I started The Turning Gem with delay in mind.
I’m interested in providing more light to things that can often be hard for people to see, most especially me. A great deal of these things are of the painful variety. Writing about them can be taxing in all sorts of ways, so I need to go easy on myself when I start feeling an obligation to keep going.
One of the things I’d like to start doing is focusing on GOOD things that deserve more light… or misunderstood things that deserve discussed. My daughter, for example, loves Taylor Swift. I… do not. But I love my daughter and writing about music, so the Gem is a perfect place to figure out how Taylor Swift fits into our father/daughter story.
Let me know if you’ve got a story you’d like to tell, or a daughter you’d like to understand better. Honestly, feel free. We’re all in this together, after all. Anyone who finds their eyes looking at these words has a bucket full of stories to tell. You are not invisible.
